FFXIV Address Book is your gateway to discovering and sharing the incredible world of Final Fantasy XIV player housing. Whether you're looking for design inspiration, want to showcase your own creative space, or simply enjoy exploring the community's beautiful homes, this guide will help you get started.

This guide covers everything from basic browsing to advanced features like photo management and community engagement.

You don't need an account to browse! Explore the directory using these methods:

The Main Browse Page

The homepage shows a grid of all properties with filter options. Use the filters to narrow down by:

• World: Select your server or any FFXIV world
• District: Choose from Mist, Lavender Beds, Goblet, Shirogane, or Empyreum
• Ward & Plot: Find specific locations
• Size: Filter by Small, Medium, or Large houses
• Ownership: View FC houses, personal houses, or both

Advanced Search

Use the Advanced Search page for more detailed queries. You can search by owner name, Free Company name, or combine multiple filters to find exactly what you're looking for.

Browse by Tags

Visit Browse by Tags to discover properties by design style or theme. Tags like "Modern", "Cozy", "Garden", or "Cafe" help you find specific aesthetics.

Leaderboard

Check the Leaderboard to see the most popular properties, top contributors, and recently added homes.

To claim properties, upload photos, and interact with the community, you'll need a free account.

How to Sign Up

1. Click the "Sign Up" button in the top navigation
2. Enter your desired username (this will be visible to other users)
3. Enter your email address (used for account recovery and notifications)
4. Create a secure password
5. Click "Create Account"

Once you have an account, you can claim your in-game properties to manage them on FFXIV Address Book.

Step-by-Step Claiming Process

1. Log in to your account
2. Use the search or filters to find your property:
   • Select your World (server)
   • Select your District (Mist, Lavender Beds, etc.)
   • Select your Ward number
   • Select your Plot number
3. Click on your property to open its detail page
4. Click the "Claim Property" button
5. Confirm that you are the actual owner of this property in FFXIV
6. Done! The property is now linked to your account

After Claiming

Once claimed, you can:

• Upload photos of your home
• Add or edit the property description
• Add tags to categorize your design style
• Set the property as "Open" (visitors welcome) or "Locked"
• View analytics about who's viewing your property

Taking Screenshots in FFXIV

1. In FFXIV, go to your house (interior or exterior)
2. Enter /gpose (Group Pose mode) for better camera control
3. Press Scroll Lock or use /gpose settings to hide the UI
4. Adjust camera angle, zoom, and lighting to frame your shot
5. Press Print Screen to take the screenshot
6. Screenshots are saved to: Documents/My Games/FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn/screenshots

Uploading to FFXIV Address Book

1. Go to your claimed property's page
2. Click "Manage Photos"
3. Click "Upload Photo"
4. Select your screenshot file
5. Wait for the upload to complete
6. Repeat for additional photos (up to 10 per property)

Photo Requirements

• Formats: JPEG, PNG, GIF, or WebP
• Maximum size: 5MB per image
• Limit: 10 photos per property

FFXIV Address Book is more than a directory - it's a community! Here's how to engage with fellow housing enthusiasts.

Favorites

Click the star icon on any property to add it to your Favorites. This:

• Shows appreciation for the owner's design work
• Contributes to the property's popularity ranking
• Notifies the owner that someone liked their home

Bookmarks

Use the bookmark icon to save properties for later. Unlike Favorites, bookmarks are private - only you can see your bookmarked properties. Great for:

• Saving design inspiration for your own projects
• Creating a list of houses to visit in-game
• Keeping track of interesting designs across different worlds

Comments

Leave comments on property pages to:

• Compliment the owner's design
• Ask questions about furniture or techniques
• Share tips or suggestions
• Connect with fellow decorators

Your Dashboard is your home base on FFXIV Address Book. Access it by clicking your username in the navigation bar.

Dashboard Features

• Overview: See your stats - claimed properties, bookmarks, comments, notifications
• My Properties: Quick access to all your claimed properties
• Notifications: Stay updated on comments and likes on your properties
• Bookmarks: View all properties you've saved
• Favorites: See properties you've liked

Profile Settings

From your profile page, you can update your email address and change your password. Keep your account secure by using a strong, unique password.

For Property Owners

• Quality photos matter: Properties with good photos get more views and favorites
• Write a description: Tell visitors about your design theme or inspiration
• Use relevant tags: Help people find your property by categorizing its style
• Keep it updated: Changed your design? Update your photos!
• Engage with comments: Respond to questions and thank people for compliments

For Visitors

• Show appreciation: Favorite properties you enjoy - it means a lot to owners
• Leave thoughtful comments: Specific compliments are more meaningful than generic ones
• Use bookmarks: Save properties for design inspiration
• Explore different worlds: Amazing designs exist on every server!
• Visit in-game: If a property is marked "Open", consider visiting in FFXIV
